Gorgeous sunset and other thoughts

So here we are again, Friday.......time for Friday Fragments.  Thanks to Mrs. 4444 for hosting Friday Fragments each week.  If you have some thoughts remaining in your brain after a long week, go on over and join in the fun!

We had a little stress reliever retreat last weekend.....the sunset was gorgeous and the beach is looking good.  The water was a little grassy, but the gulf at it's worst is still wonderful!  I have included a few pictures......just pretend you're there and you will relax right away!  Promise!

His smile just makes me happy!

God's creation in all it's glory...

Living on the Gulf Coast is truly a blessing and I'm thankful to call this home.

We were saddened by the sudden death of our church friend who was diagnosed with Leukemia and just a few days later apparently had a brain bleed and died at age 49, leaving 8 precious children.  We know Tom is with Jesus in glory and is truly home.  As one of his friends said...."We do not grieve as those who have no hope, but we do grieve!"

*****

Heard around here....

Me.....Superhero, what do you think some of my good qualities are?

Superhero.......why do you ask questions like that?

Me.....You can't think of any?????  Well, here let me list a few.
I mean, really how many wives list their good qualities for their husbands so they don't have to remember them?????

*****

A few nights ago, the Superhero took me up to our property to relax see if I could draw all the mosquitos away from him.  He was just going on about how he would like to someday live there and farm.  I stopped him at that point and informed him that when we got married I knew he was a workaholic and that was o.k......I knew he was a hunter and that was o.k., I knew he loved to fish and THAT was o.k......  BUT, I did not know he wanted to be a farmer and I'm just not sure that is o.k.  In his usual Superhero-ish way, he assured me I would be a great farmwife.  HA!
If anyone hears that I've been milking cows, please just have me put away!

*****

As it is every year, 9/11 was a day for sober reflection......thinking of those who lost loved ones and how our country changed in a frightening way.  I pray that as a country, we begin to diligently seek the face of God and ask His forgiveness and that He bring our nation back to Himself.  And so I leave you with this scripture to think about.....

My times are in your hand; rescue me from the hand of my enemies and from my persecutors.

Be strong, and let your heart take courage, all you who wait for the Lord!
Psalm 31: 15 & 24

Have a good weekend all!

Your getaway looks like it was perfect! I think living on a farm would be awesome but I'm not sure I would want to farm it, maybe just a nice large garden but an awesome farmhouse would be perfect. I am so sorry for the loss of your church friend. Keeping them in my prayers.

Handsome Superhero you have there. And thoughtful, too. Don't let him get away and just let him keep dreaming about the farmer part. ;-)
Those verses are some I go to when I think about our future. He has taken care of us in the past, and He will continue to see us through.
Glad you had a good getaway and sorry about your friend.

Oh, I'm going to hae a stress relief this coming week as well. It won't be at the gulf, but it will still be fun.

OH, my, leaving behind 8 children. How very sad!

Oh, I bet you would make a fine farmer's wife. :o)

Happy weekend!

There is so much to comment on in this FRAG BAG! Your Superhero does have an amazing smile. CUTIE!

Being a Farmer's wife COULD be fun. However, playing on the beach with GRASS sounds better. Just so you know, there is NO grass on Southern Cal beaches ... too dry. I think it sounds like Easter eggs should be hiding there.

Finally, the loss of a young father, husband and sweet man is totally depressing. I am sorry for that huge loss and trust that God understands the big picture even when we don't! I love the Pslams too!
Peace amiga!

I am a Sunset girl (sunrises don't interest me, I'd rather be sleeping!). That one is beautiful!
Come on, a little cow-milking never hurt anyone!
So sorry for the loss of your friend.

Handsome superhero, I think he does look like a farmer...as I think you would be a lovely farmwife! You are so blessed to live near the ocean, I dream of the time of becoming a snowbird and hang out by the sea during the winter. Diane

Yeah, Alpha Hubby surprised me like that, too. I'd always said I wouldn't marry a preacher or a farmer. Before we married, I found out he ministered at a nursing home on Sunday mornings but AFTER we married I found out his heart's desire was to get back to raising cattle. I married an Engineer - how did I get here with these spoiled rotten cows? Love (he's lucky I do). And his promise that I wouldn't have to do anything with those big old babies. One nose bump of love sends a person flying! I am a rancher's wife but I don't ranch so I'm good (smile).

Don't you love it when "they" throw "new" dreams at you... as long as the farm isn't to far from the beach!

Dear Nancy, you have such a wonderful attitude toward life--a light-hearted acceptance of the vicissitudes of daily living--that I think you'd do well as a farmer! Peace.
