It's a beautiful morning....

Every morning.....very early every morning, the Superhero springs into our bedroom with a cup of coffee to wake me for the day.  The Superhero is a morning person.  Me?  Not so much.

Well, this isn't exactly what we look like......

I drink my coffee fussing and moaning all the while, he does his stretching exercises, then we go for a walk.   Yes, he stretches while I just jump out of bed, put my clothes on and walk!

Once upon a time, in an apartment complex near us, someone thought is would be a good idea to place a beautiful pair of ducks in the holding pond near the street.  The ducks just happened to fall in love, marry and begin having little ducklings.  Lots and lots of little ducklings!  Soon those little ducklings grew up, fell in love and the cycle started again......soon there were ducks EVERYWHERE!

While we are walking, mama ducks can be seen herding ducklings from newly hatched babies to teens from the pond to the ditch beside the road and onto the walking path.

Sadly, they venture into the road at times and.....well you know what happens.  SO....when we are walking and I see them waddling in the direction of sure death, I start shooing them back to the ditch.

Which leads me to the question.......WHY DO THE DUCKS CROSS THE ROAD???  Really, there is nothing on the other side that is any better than the side they started from so just stay there and be happy!

But then again, many times we want to cross the wrong roads don't we?

Just a little something to think about during your weekend.
Have a wonderful weekend!

Hmmmm....something to ponder!!! There is a family of ducklings right outside my mom's window at the rehab facility. We are enjoying watching them grow up.

So simple ... yet so profound! Certainly food for thought this Saturday evening!

Well, how sweet are those ducks but even sweeter is that your Hubby brings you coffee in bed. My Hubby would have to bring it to me at 5:00AM to beat me up. So, I get my own first cup and it works for us. :o)

Great illustration with the ducks. Wishing you a happy week my friend!

Lucky you to get your coffee in bed :-) My superhero doesn't drink the same coffee as I do.

Hugs,
Kat

As usual, very good post! I don't get coffee in bed, but my tea is ready for me when I get up!
I will have to share the thing I got on FB yesterday about why the chicken crossed the road! And I already had a bunch of stuff to go hmmm about this morning!
Have a good day with Ashley! Love you!

I guess ducks are like people. They always think it's better on the other side. :)

Dear Nancy, how nice it is for me to return to blogging after being away for six weeks and to find this posting by you after you too had been away because of your mother's death. I hope the grief has lessened. By that I mean I hope that you are living filled with gratitude for her being your mother and a part of your life for so long. You will never stop grieving, but you will, and perhaps have, found the peace of gratitude. Peace.

Where I lived before here, we saw the same with the ducks, and every day (like you) when I'd see them waddling across I'd try my best to head them back to the pond/ditch. One day I held up traffic for them, and even had one guy blow his horn. I thought that was rude, but then these days everyone is in such a big hurry.
