60 is the new 30?

At least that's what I told the dear husband as we walked the dogs last night.
It was a nice day for a birthday......mostly.

My birthday present was a nag free day and for the most part I didn't!

This is his hey, I'm not really 60 look.

We lolled around at the beach until we turned and noticed this....

The surf was definitely up!

And we were having a hard time keeping the umbrella from flying away

I was having a hard time keeping my hat on, but notice how the sky was different depending on which way we were facing.

We noticed that we were the only ones left on the beach and that's when I forgot all about my birthday promise  and let the nagging begin.  Everyone else had already decided that it was time to scurry on off of the beach before the storm started.......but old birthday boy insisted that the storm would stay off the coast even though it was over our heads even as he spoke.  We stayed a while longer before I insisted that I didn't want either of us to be hit by lightning on his birthday.  We rode our bikes back to the RV in the pouring rain and were cold and soaked.......it's about a half mile ride back.

We made it safely and that's all I have to say about that!

We had eaten out every day, but on his birthday, Russell cooked grilled pork loin and roasted vegetables.  No, I didn't make him cook on his birthday....he likes to cook, seriously, he thinks it's relaxing.  He needs help.

We're home today for a few hours to change out beach stuff for regular stuff.  Tomorrow we leave to go visit Tommy, Claudia and Charley for the labor day weekend.

A long vacation!  Hope you're having a good time wherever you are too!

I LOVE THAT VIEW, storm rolling in and all. I miss Florida, Not been to Florida all of 2011, and it is not going to happen this year, first time since our daughter moved there 5 or 6 years ago, I used to go 3 or 4 times per year, now it is easier to bring her here so she can SEE everyone...babies all want to see Aunt Stacie!!!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY to your hubby!!

Funny! Men think they always know what's gonna happen in storms and dangerous situations. Rode back in the rain? That would have cost him, if it had been me!!!:-)

I want so badly to come to the beach for a few days. If I do, I'll call you, and maybe we can do lunch.

Can't believe it's fall already!

hope your trip to see Charley was fun!
