Friday Fragments.....Just a week in the life....

Thanks to Mrs. 4444 for Friday Fragments, where we leave all our leftover thoughts from the week.

Seems like we have lots of celebrations in our family!

This week, my BIL's mama turned 89!  Just a month younger than our mama, she lives in the same apartment complex at our local retirement center.  BIL Mike, sister Debbie and their son Joshua hosted a very nice lunch party for Mary's birthday.

Happy Birthday, Mary!

********
Another big, big milestone this week was my SIL's parent's 70th wedding anniversary!  You read that right, 70!

The cake my SIL, Lois had for them at church supper Wednesday night

The happy couple.....this is a picture of deep and abiding love!

This week, my sisters and I took mama to the doctor for the first time in two years.  Before you start screaming and pulling your hair out and calling elder abuse, she's been on Hospice for the past two years and has been discharged now.  She hasn't had to go OUT to the doctor for those two years.  I'm not saying a word about the politics of the health care system at this point.  No, really.....I'm not.
It's hard on mama to go out and it's quite the adventure to take her out, but we all made it to the doctor and back.

While there, we had to fill out the new Medicare form......have you seen it?  The form is a hoot and we actually had a good time filling it out......like fall on the floor laughing.....just don't forget that decisions in your future could possibly be determined by the way you fill in the blanks on this form. Ask to look at one the next time you're in the doctor's office with your elderly friend or parent.......or just for yourself.....we are aging you know.

The other highlights of the week were as follows:

The dogs got groomed

The grass got mowed

I had my semi annual psychiatrist appointment.  She confirmed I still suffer from anxiety.  Go figure!

I got a massage.

I saw this and it's self explanatory.

The end.

You had a good reason to celebrate! I'd be full and on a sugar high from so much cake. I do not look forward to filling out medicare forms. Looks like it is coming sooner than later.

70th Anniversary....amazing!!! Can you even find a card for that one?
Well that a big change for you having to take her to the doctor. Is there not anyone who will come to see her? Love the joke, really funny.

70 years is really amazing! Most who stay married a long time don't both LIVE long enough to get to 70!!!

Dear Nancy, those forms can be scary as I never know who's going to interpret what and how! Peace.
