Friday, Friday....You get here too quickly...

This post didn't start out as my Friday Fragments post, but I didn't get back to it until today so there you go.

Friday Fragments is hosted by Mrs. 4444 and is the place where we dump all the left overs from our brains.

A home is a very personal place that reflects the people who live their lives there.  I want my home to be comfortable, warm and inviting.  From the kitchen to the bedrooms and the backyard beyond, when we have visitors, I want them to feel like our home is their home. Of course, it would be nice if they would wait to visit until I've got the place all neat and tidy.  But then, we would never have visitors would we?

Today, I got a new chair at T. J. Maxx** .... I get nothing for using their name**  NOTHING...and I really think it completes our living room.

For some time, I've been looking for a small chair to go in this corner of the room and when I spotted this one, I just knew it was the one.  Small and not super expensive, it fit the bill perfectly and the bonus is that it is also a recliner!  Just give me a place to put my feet up and I'm happy.

The little side table was one I got at an antique store a few years ago and love it, but it was sort of hidden away and never noticed, so it found a new home by the chair.  The little lampshade just happened to match which was another bonus!
What kinds of things do you add in your home that makes it feel complete?

I got a new car!!!  Oh, yes, I'm a little excited that we have retired the covered wagon, although this car is much smarter than I am and so makes driving a challenge until I take the time to learn how to work all the gadgets.  That would require reading the book and I have never been one to read instructions.  One of my many faults! Thankfully, I know where the accelerator and brake are so I'm good to go!

The Superhero and I know that we are very blessed.

It has certainly been a week of ups and downs here in our little neck of the world, both weather wise and other wise.  We went from flip flops and no jackets to socks, scarves, gloves and coats!  Ah, Florida!

My oldest is off the rails again which is one of the downs and always a heartache for me.  I daily pray God would remove addiction from his life and turn him towards the right path.  And I do not lose hope, even though I sometimes feel hopeless.  If we live by our feelings, we will never have hope so I try hard not to let feelings reign for too long before turning back to HOPE also spelled JESUS.

Rent or buy Won't Back Down and watch it tonight.  You won't be sorry, this was one of the best movies I've seen!

I leave you with this.....

Now faith is the assurance of things, hope for, the conviction of things not seen......Hebrews 11:1

Keep the faith!

Sorry to hear about your oldest. That has to be so incredibly difficult.
The chair looks great!
We were in the 70s last week; snow right now.

I love the new car! Chevy Traverse?? My neighbor has one, and I admit, I love cars! Totally weird but there it is. Plug me in at an auto show for a couple days and it's like a tropical vacation :)

I wish we had TJ Maxx, my parents have one and there are so many fantastic odds and ends of furniture I'd love to put in my house. But since we just downsized from a mini-van to a sedan, I won't be bringing them home anytime soon!

I hope you can reach your oldest. Sometimes the hardest thing in the world is to be a parent.

I never find anything good at T.J. Maxx. :( Maybe the one near me doesn't have very good merchandise.

We don't need a new car yet, but I'm kind of scared of these new fancy ones that talk to you and check your Facebook (because you just have to do that while you're driving). I hate reading instructions, too, so good luck!

I'm sorry to hear about your oldest. My thoughts are with you.

I had a whole other comment ready to go until I read about your eldest. I'm sorry. My brother struggles with addiction, which means that everyone that truly loves him struggles with his addiction. It's rough.

I just love your header, I'm such a beach girl!
I love TJ Maxx. I got my wedding dress there:)
My grandkids were very handy in teaching me how to use my blue tooth, navigation, etc...
Never, ever give up hope. My husband is 23 years clean and sober and after a lot of years of tears and prayers our youngest son has 8 years. It is more than possible. I will add you and your son to my prayer list.
Have a blessed weekend.

I have a very similar car...not new and different "brand" but very similar. Be careful when you back up. I nailed a sedan that stopped directly behind me...never even saw it... meaning I had to actually get out to see what I hit... the sensors went off, but it all happened too fast! :-(

I feel the same way about my home.. when people tell me its welcoming or cozy, that's the best compliment they can give!

Won't Back Down looks really good--Thanks.

I love the chair AND the table!

Sorry about your oldest. My best friend's son died from an accidental overdose at the age of 17, so I've seen the pain of addiction from that point of view. Powerlessness is so hard to accept sometimes. i wish you peace with that.

I love the chair and table. Looks like a great place to sit and read. The new car looks really nice too.

I love your blog font and the "Dory Award" in your sidebar.

I hope your oldest will get himself straightened up soon. It's not easy when we see our children making bad choices. We have a daughter that we are praying for.

Thanks for visiting my blog and I'm glad I came and checked yours out. I'm sure I'll be back.

Nancy, so nice to meet you and thanks so much for stopping by my blog. I love meeting new blog buddies, especially Christians.

Oh, I pray that your son will get his life on track. It is so easy to loose hope but as Christian, we have the greatest hope on earth - Jesus. I think one of the hardest things on a parent is realizing, once their children are grown, that they are no longer responsible for them, just to them. There's a big difference. I pray you will be able to find peace with this situation.

Again, so nice to meet you. Blessings!

Love your new CAR!! And your new chair does seem to be a perfect fit:) As for the weather, does it help you to know my girls were sent off to school with hats and mitts this morning. Snow here!

Sending thoughts of strength to your oldest.

My youngest sister struggles with addiction too! It can rear its ugly head and all we can do is pray.

My life verse is Hebrews 12:1. You are so right that our faith has to carry us when our emotions are weary and weak.

I happen to really like your chair!! It looks great!
