Friday in the south...

It's Friday and time once again for the fragments of our brains to be poured out for the all to see.

Join Mrs. 4444 for Friday Fragments.

For a few years, my calendar was filled with doctor appointments for my mama and we laughed that doctor visits were the social life of older people.  She doesn't go out often any longer, so guess who has a new social life going to doctor's of her own......that's right ME.  I had four doctor or test appointments this week.  FOUR days out of the week were filled with doctors or medical technicians.

I had an MRI and they give me scrubs to wear.  When I put on the bottoms, I laughed out loud because they were so huge.  The technician explained that they took the average weight of people they see when they are ordering.  That means a heck of a lot of people need to lose weight.
The technician then asked if I had any jewelry and I held up my bare hands and pointed to my bare ears and said no......she then gestured up and down my body and said any not visible with clothes on? NO, NO and NO.  That would be my child.  I do have tattooed eyeliner and she warned me that if my eyes started heating up to let her know.  Then she had to wait for me to stop shaking with laughter as I envisioned my head exploding!

As a result of these social events, I've ended up with this pretty accessory.

Now don't be jealous, I can hook you up with the nice people who will sell you one of these babies!  But be aware, it's not comfortable and it's really bulky under your jeans!

*****

For some strange reason, last night I had a spurt of energy and decided to clean out junk drawers.  Of course, the real reason was that I was looking for a baby card that I've needed to mail for two weeks.  In the process I came across several emails from one of my sons that I wish I had thrown away years ago, which led to some hurtful memories that I could have done without.  Sigh.....BUT, a lot of junk was purged and guess where I found the card?  You guessed it, the last place I looked!  But in the process I found that we have enough batteries to keep us going for years.  I  think everybody has a junk drawer, but I have junk drawers as in every drawer in the house.

*****

It's been a hard week for some family members and I'm praying.....

*****

Here in the south, it's 71 degrees today!  I know some of you really like the cold and snow, but I like to be able to go outside and not have to wear four layers of clothes!

*****

One of my blog friends, Debi did a post recently on time and how we spend it......she challenged us to think of three things we would take with us if we were stranded on an island and those things couldn't be people or media.  I'm terrible at that kind of stuff, but came up with these three (although anone who knows me, knows I could never choose just three things to take anywhere).
My Bible, photographs and a pad with a pencil attached to write my thoughts.  Whew!  Notice there was not one piece of clothing?  I guess you wouldn't need much on a deserted island.

*****

Well, mine is certainly not the most interesting post you'll read today and I wish I would get busy and post more often, but anyhow.......have a wonderful weekend and remember to smile at everyone you meet!!

Now you just need to remember where all those batteries are when you need one.

Oh no! What happened to your knee?

I fight the junk drawer issue ... mostly because DH doesn't adhere to my rule that everything has a place ... if I didn't stay on top of things, every drawer in the house would be a junk drawer. ;-)

It was nice and warm when we were in Florida 2 weeks ago - loved it. I love snow but not the cold weather. So far we haven't really had much snow - if we're not going to get any snow, what's the point of winter? ha!

I imagine your's and Super Hero's toes are getting mighty COLD standing barefoot in all that snow in your header picture.

Oh wait - - - that's sand.

I always enjoy your humor.

Sorry about the knee accessory. Very lovely, but I'll just be envious of yours and not covet one for myself, k?

Um, tattooed eyeliner? Did it hurt? I have tattoos and the one around my ankle hurt pretty badly when I got it, but I can't imagine getting one around my eyes!

I hope your knee brace helps. :)

Doctor appointments are such stressers, hope you don't have a lot of them in the future. NO social life is better than that type of socializing! LOL What's with your knee? Do tell.

I think I have 4 junk drawers in this house and they all need to be cleaned out :-( Wanna come up to Alaska and do that for me? ;-)

We have several sizes of assorted braces and such here at our house. Most of us have worn one at sometime. Mine is the coolest, it's a space boot for a broken ankle.

Too bad you didn't grab a photo and caption "I wear my daddy's scrubs", so funny :-)

Oh, I know all about those Dr. app'ts. It takes the entire year just to get my checkups with the eye Dr., the dermatologist, the Gynocologist and on and on. Mercy! And, I'm still taking my 83 year old Dad to his appt's.

I have permanent brows, eyeliner, lip liner (never again, most painful thing I've ever done).

Fun post! Happy weekend!

Wow! What a journey the junk drawers took you on.

A social life that requires one to take in several Dr.s appts. each week is an exhausting one. We (my husband)just finished a season of a horrendous medical, social calender and I'm happy we're down to one or two a week.

The family members appreciate the prayers........and as for this sister, every drawer is a junk drawer. Have a good weekend!!

Are medical tests required for that fab knee ornament? :-) Medical tests are annoying sometimes. Hopefully yours will make you feel better.

I have junk closets. I'm afraid to open two of them in my house. I'm not sure what will jump out at me.

Have a beautiful weekend.

Oh, yes...those social outings are wayyy to frequent.
Can't they combine doctors? Isn't there one who can both check for glaucoma AND cervical cancer?
Can't you get a breast exam and a root canal as a buy one get one free?
You are SO skinny...noticed that right off. I'm sorry about your leg jewelry but I hope it fixes the problem.

I know just what you mean about warm winters!!! I'm a wuss when it comes to cold. And about 60 and below in temp; that's getting cold.

Tattooed eyeliner? I would love to have that done for myself. Costly? Hurt?

How long do you have to wear the knee brace?

I have always been pretty healthy, but Lawn Boy just went through the process of a sleep study and C-Pap. That was a heck of a lot of appointments!

I had a spurt of energy last night but I ignored it and stayed on the couch!

Dear Nancy, I so like that photograph of you and your husband (I think) on the beach. You look so happy and contented.

Is your new accessory on your knee helpful so that you don't have to have total knee replacement????

I've been away from reading and commenting on blogs for the past six weeks, so I know I'm behind in what's been happening with you and your life. If there are any postings you'd especially like me to read, please e-mail me the URLs or insert them in a comment box on my blog.

I hope all is well , , , and your drawers throughout the house remained de-cluttered!!!! Peace.
