Hope....

There is great news and hopeful news to report today.

First the great news!  Our daughter in law was discharged from the hospital on restricted activities, which means she won't be returning to work until after John Daniel is born.  The Lord is gracious in hearing our prayers and we are continuing to pray for him to stay put until he is ready to come into the world.  Right now, he needs to spend more time in mama!  Thank you for your prayers.  We are, as a good older friend used to say at the end of every prayer "careful to give Him all the glory"....

Now as we all know who are Christians....Faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.....even though my friend Dawn's husband is very critically ill, she is not giving up on that hope!  Thanks to the world of bloggers and facebookers, prayers are going out around the globe for his healing.

******************

I need to lighten things up for a moment and ask a question.....when do you start wearing jeans instead of shorts or capris?  I know, world shaking.  I ask, because I have started wearing mostly jeans and once I start, I feel uncomfortable in capris, but I'm not odd or anything.

Since it's Fall, I've actually put out a few Fall things around the house.  I'm not an all out decorate the house sort of girl, but I do like a few things.

Funny thing about my dining table arrangements.....every season, I use the same arrangements.......I just take one out and slide the one for the next season in....creative huh?

My least favorite

Sideways so I could get the wreath in, which is my  most favorite along with the cloth pumpkin on the coffee table made for me by a friend.

That's all for the decorations.  I really can't believe it's Fall.

Glad to hear of answered prayer for your daughter-in-law and little John Daniel ... praying that he will stay put until it's time for him to make his appearance. ;-) Continuing to pray for Dawn.

I don't have a problem switching back and forth between jeans and capris in September when one day it can be in the 80's and the next day it can be in the 60's. I'm cold-natured, so I'm definitely going with comfort (i.e., warmth). ;-)

I need to get out my fall decorations ... I don't have many (less is more at my house), but I do need to get out what I do have. I was going to do it this afternoon, but I'll be going to DD's instead. Decorations can wait! ha!

Our pastor who has had some major health issues this year (a very tricky brain surgery) said that people ask him if he is worried about his health. He says no. He prays and know that God will heal him here or heal him so he can be with Him. That has really stayed on my heart when I hear of people suffering. So I pray that they be healed, either here or in eternal life.

Dear Nancy, with regard to the jeans/capris/shorts question--I wore sweat pants all doing my fifties, sixties, and early seventies. Then, I moved and the weather here is so hot that I returned to shorts and peddle pushers--the attire of my thirties and forties.
Am I going backward or what?!?!? Peace.

Good news on your DIL and I am keeping your friends husband in my prayers. I haven't worn shorts in forever. I love capris and I'm not sure I'll ever stop wearing them. I am not comfortable in pants but wear them when it's cold outside. Thankfully it's not very often. Your Fall decorations look wonderful. I haven't done any decorating for Fall.

I can't wear capris. Tony laughs at me and asks me why I'm wearing "little girl pants". He does so until I can not stand it anymore and I change into jeans.

Yip. He's a joy, that one.

Glad to hear about little John Daniel and you start wearing jeans and give up on shorts when your legs start getting cold! Glad I could help. ;)

We had a discussion just today about capris and how men don't seem to like them. I prefer pants just above the knee for summer days, but I'm always glad for cooler weather so I can wear long pants to cover my legs. Glad to hear about your baby John.

Thankful for Claudia and John Daniel!! Prayers for Dawn.
As for the jeans, I am your sister, so I can say that you are just a little odd about that....it is almost 90 every day. I have on shorts today!! I have not put on a pair of jeans this season except to try some on for size. Love you!!

Did my sister call me ODD??? Oh, well, maybe that's because my family knows me so well! :)

great news on the baby and DIL...it is still in the 90's here so shorts and capris are still the uniform....jeans every now and then..

That is great news about the baby and your DIL and definitely hopeful news from Dawn today.

I've worn jeans all summer here. When I wear capris my husband always says "I can afford to buy you a full pair of pants". LOL

Glad to read the good news! About the capris, I wear them as long as I see others wearing them. I hate to have to give them up, they are my favorite. Jeans are fine, too, but more for cold weather, imo. I only wear shorts in the house. :)

Nancy, sooooo great to check in with you. You certainly do have alot of family health stuff going on. I am sorry for that and share the same hope you do. Know that there is perfect healing waiting all of us eventually ;0)
Now, about the capri debate. I wear them until it gets cold and it hasn't happened yet here in Southern California. Enjoy the jeans!

I went zip lining two weeks ago, and I wore shorts. My legs look so lumpy in the photos, I've worn jeans ever since! Today it's 80 here (near Chicago) so I wore capris. No fall decor here yet. I'm too lazy! (School has me worn out!)
