Do people just sense when you're in a bad mood and feeling down and almost out?
Even though this may not be so nice and I'm admitting it in advance, this was my experience in a retail store recently.

Mama needs a portable phone with speed dial and it would help to have large numbers. I was in the mall and walked into R*dio S*ack to see if they carry such an animal and was greeted by a young girl who nicely asked if she could help me. I explained that I need a phone with speed dial and she said "what's that?" I began to explain what speed dial was and she stopped me to say she would show me the phone she thought I meant. As she started telling me about the features, I stopped her and said it wouldn't work because it wasn't portable and did they have any portables......she said "Well, if you would let me finish explaining this one to you..." I was not in the mood for young and snippy when I was already old and snippy. They didn't have what I needed so I just said thank you and left. Who trains these people??? Where has customer service gone???
Whew......I'm sorry, I needed to vent.
But there has been so much going on lately.....property in jeopardy, possible affairs, snobbiness, changes in society, births, deaths.....and that's just on Downton Abbey!
Real life is much more interesting! Seriously, if anybody is still checking, I'm back! I missed you all and will be playing catch up on your blogs too.
The weather all over the country is frightening so I can't complain too much butI wish it would stop raining we've had a lot of rain the last few days. Quite frankly, I'm ready for Spring which actually means summer here in Florida where we only have two seasons.
I don't have much to talk about that I should actually talk about, so let me just say I hope you all have a great weekend!

Nobody needs a customer service with attitude, especially if you are just going in for five minutes to quick get something. I will admit when someone is rude to me I carry it for several hours, you try not to, but you just simply do. Forget Radio Shack, see what Walmart has - I have always find the Electronic dept good to work with.....and then go buy chocolate! :) Hugs, Diane
customer service is not good these days...when you actually find good service you want to give them an award for actually doing what they are paid to do....glad your back..
Oh, don't even get me started on customer service, not much of it left today.
Always fun to stop by........blessings to you!
Yes for sure, customer service is almost non-existent. I wouldn't have bought a phone there even if they'd had it after that!
I have actually had great service doing online business and have not had to send anything back either.
Did you find your mom a phone anywhere?
So glad you're back ... I missed you.
I can't believe the service (or actually lack thereof) you got a Radio Shack. Did you ever get a phone?
Hope you get some respite from all that rain.
I missed you too, but understand how life gets in the way.
It does seem like all of the store help is made up of snippy little kids these days. No wonder so many go out of business so quickly.
Customer is gone and I miss it!
I'm only in Season 2 of Downtown Abbey. Yes the countries weather is very strange. We have been way to cold, 33 at night, and also a lot of rain. Today we have horrible Santa Ana winds. Nice to see you today.
I'm just surprised you found someone to help you! Hope you are able to find the phone for your Mama.
It is a sad thing that Downton Abbey won't be on tonight. :-(
That's too funny. My last wife worked there, and that's what I always think of when I go in to one of their locations. You did the socially correct thing. As we all know, I would've handled it a little differently. If you don't let her know (and her boss) how rude she is, she honestly might never know. Love you, hope all is well.
I'll take the rain, thanks... it's been raining all day (started yesterday late afternoon) and is likely to end in 3 inches of snow by morning.
Supposed to be in the 40's all week though, so it won't be much of a bother. SPRING IS COMING!!!!
Customer service often feels like a thing of the past..............so many young upstarts who have no manners working in stores and they have no idea what they are talking about which can piss us off so much....
Welcome back..you were missed...
Hugs!
Dear Nancy, I did have a great weekend. I caught up on reading blogs and I read and watched a 2-hour rerun of the final episode of Season Three of "Downton Abbey."
It's a soap opera, I know, but it has me hooked!
I also made a frig/pantry soup, which is to say I soaked beans overnight, then opened the refrigerator and found produce, and then flung wide the pantry door and found cans of diced tomatoes and threw it all in the soup pot and let it simmer for hours and then enjoyed a tasty bowl of homemade soup. Yum! Yum!
I'm sorry to learn that you had to endure that rudeness. I wonder at times where civility has fled. Peace.
I'm catching up with blogs too. Seems like we both took a break at the same time. :)
