Since we have been empty nesters, the Superhero and I have had fun taking our own pictures and putting them on Christmas cards. Our children are scattered around the country and we knew we would never be able to get pictures of us all together.
We try to think of a different place to take them each year and this year decided to take them in front of a roaring fire with our mantle decorated.....
We tried standing......
Nope! Odd angle, not to mention you can't even see the mantle....Sitting on the floor......Nope! Uncomfortable and we look strained.
I get the bright idea of getting our little Rubbermaid stools to sit on and those weren't too bad until I realized that we had the old, ragged sticker still on the front of one!
Awkward.......
Awkward and we are getting very frustrated!
The Superhero thinks he's funny and takes a picture while I'm getting up to check the camera. I knew I shouldn't have given him the remote! And by the way, the ONLY picture he really smiled in.....because he was amused!
Right before we had to call a marriage counselor in to help, we got one that wasn't too bad, even though the roaring fire was nowhere to be seen!
So to all our friends, near and far,
Merry Christmas and may Jesus be close to your hearts this season!

It looks like an amusing time was had by all!! The picture turned out beautifully.
This is why my hubs wont let me take pictures of the 2 of us :)
FYI - a good shot is always a good close up - heads close together ... tip from a photographer :)
Okay. This makes me laugh. You're too cute and now I'm feeling inspired. It is so frustrating that we can never get all our group together either looking "picture perfect!"
Looks like a good shot to me! My husband always has a goofy grin or a somber look.
Ooo, now that I've seen them all, the one you picked was THE BEST! And yes, I got mine today, thank you! I was so happily surprised. I do like the one he took of you getting up - so funny! Merry Christmas!
LOL....that was fun! That last one came out great. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and yours.....
I always have some personalised cards made up for some family members I think they are a great idea I also get some printed for my parents to send out as well
You should have your own comedy show! You always make me laugh out loud! The one of you getting up was Super Hero's best smile! Tell him he did good!!
Well, that is just too cute and your final one is definitely a "winner." We try to do a family picture each year but it is definitely challenging to try and get more than two people to look good in one picture and we can never agree on which one we are going to use. It's fun!!
Blessings galore this Christmas!!
Well that was entertaining!
I hope you have a blessed Christmas and New Year.
Hugs!
