Time Management or.....If I Only had a Brain!

Am I the only one who's getting very forgetful lately?  I mean VERY forgetful?

Believe it or not, I like knowing how my week is going to go and what I'll be doing.  I check my calendar every day to see what I have going on that day.  Not that it means I'll remember any of what I need to do!

But I never have to look on Mondays, because Mondays are very special.

I have a long standing and ongoing problem with neck pain.  My daddy always said I was a pain in the neck!  So I have the greatest massage therapist and every Monday, Lord willing, I drive to her home for a massage.  A deep, knocking the knots out of my neck massage, which keeps me going for a few days.

Monday, I got up as usual and started laundry, watching the time so I would be sure to get ready in time for my massage.  I did a few loads of laundry, ate breakfast...etc. all the time thinking at 10 a.m. I need to get in the shower.

MY APPOINTMENT IS AT 10 A.M.

I have no clue what I was thinking, but at 10:21 a.m. my therapist called and said I know something is wrong because you are always here!  It was only then that I realized I was working towards an 11 a.m. goal.  WHY?????

I really have no idea.  But the week before at my appointment we talked, just randomly, about time management.  She said they were talking about it in her Sunday School class and she copied the notes and gave them to me.....

When I finally walked in her door an hour late, I said with a sad little smile.....Thank you so much for those time management pointers! Now if only I would study numbers 8 and 9 carefully!

My randomness just went on from there.  I'm going to go take a walk and see if I can shake some oxygen up to the old brain and maybe, just maybe get it working!

Trust me....you are NOT alone. Maybe we all need a copy of those time management lists.

It's not just you. I forgot about a conference call for work yesterday until almost 2 hours after it was done. OOPS! Thankfully I can make it up the end of this week... if I don't forget about it. LOL

So glad you were able to still get in for your appointment! That could have made for a very long week to have missed it completely.

That is a great list of time management tips by the way

As I used to tell my kids at school..."Sneeze, please...and get the dust off your brain!"

I have done the same thing! Seem as if our brains just take a little time off and don't bother telling us!

We all have days like that. I do use "If I only had a brain" often when I talk about myself!

Too much stuff in our hard drives - we need to delete a lot! I could love a massage every week, but thankful it is something I don't absolutely NEED.

I have to say that I'm very glad I'm not working at my job any more, because I was getting too forgetful!

Mom, I don't think you have too much to worry about. You're still pretty together (for your age!!). And I feel ya about the pain in the neck....btw I was just kidding about the age thing...I'm super forgetful, and I too, at my young age, look at the calendar every morning!!

Nancy, I certainly could relate to the topic of this post as my brain doesn't always function too great these days either. I figured out fairly quickly that we share the same wonderful massage therapist especially since my husband was the author of that list and I typed it for him for his Sunday school class! He has admitted in the class that I call him a "time Nazi" because he is time conscious to a fault sometimes. You guessed he's "Type A" and I'm not. I don't think I've missed a massage with our friend with "magic fingers" yet ... yet being the operative word!

That is the reason why I am using a software that keeps tracking the things that I'm doing everyday.
