I started blogging December of 2005. Five years ago.
This was my very first blog. As simple as it was, I think it took me days to figure out how to just get it to actually post.
AND, I will be the first to tell you that I'm still not very savvy at this stuff. I can't make a button....I've tried......I can't go to the top and put all my info under tabs...I guess you'd call them tabs, and there is a number of other things I haven't learned.
This isn't a deep blog about anything really. Sometimes, by accident something deep may come out or something serious, but that's not what my blog is about. Let's just say it is random. What started as a whim has turned into a vehicle for meeting new friends from literally all over the country and the world...and that's what has made it so rewarding!
Never really expecting anyone to read it, imagine my happy surprise when I began making friends. I met people who had similar things going on in their lives, people who would pray for my particular problems and I would pray for theirs. I think the blog world may be the biggest prayer chain ever.
You may or may not remember this post where I mentioned that some of my family members thought you were all perverts. :) That made me smile because I was thinking of how most of you are Christian women and I may or may not have said what if I'm the pervert??? If so, we all go to great lengths to hide our pervertedness! I sincerely hope that 's a real word.
I find I talk a lot about these. I love pictures, so I post a lot of them and be sure I look at all of yours too! I love getting to know you and seeing pictures makes me feel I know you and your families!
Just a few through the years photos. Very random photos.
Here I am with my sister, Debbie about 5 years ago.
The weight has changed in five years.
Hair styles have certainly changed
Really changed
Our lives have changed a lot
And yet stayed constant
Five years is a very small part of our lives, but I can honestly say these five years have been enhanced by meeting all of you and getting to know you and as a result getting to know myself better. You have spiritually inspired me to dig deeper and know God better. You have inspired me to never give up on life's problems but to trust the Lord with them instead.
So thanks to you all! I look forward to many years of reading about you and telling you about me!
It's going to be a great year!

I started in June of 2006!
You've changed hair dos MUCH more over these past five years than have I!
I've gained more weight than have you!
And yet we BOTH love blogging for all the friends it has brought into our lives.
What a fun trip down memory lane!!! Looking back five years really does make us realize how much water has passed under the bridge. I have only been at it for three years and I can see such a difference, but I am still a novice at figuring it all out. SIGH!
I started in August 2005, just a few months before you. I agree with you about this wonderful world of blogging. I never dreamed it would become such a special part of my life...thanks to friends like YOU. I hope we can meet in person soon. It's a shame we haven't yet, especially since we live so close. Let's make it happen, okay?
Hugs,
Kat
Hi Nancy, thanks for dropping in to see me! Love all of your photographs and looking down your memory lane! Everyone is just great looking!
Nancy
You do have many followers thats for sure!
I ts fun to see how much we change isnt it?
I cant decide which hairstyle is my fav. on you, they are all so cute.the real short one i think is my fav.you are a pretty woman.
You are six months ahead of me - hard to believe it's been that long. I entered with fear and trembling, but what a blessing it has been to meet so many wonderful friends in cybespace - and 10 in real life. I still am not savvy on so many things - Kristen used to do the tough stuff for me, but that never happens any more. Oh, well.
Isn't it funny that we have so many followers, but not that many of them comment on any given day? Weird.
So glad to have met you!!
Nancy, I'm so glad you braved the blog world, this sea of perverts :-) I too was lost and had no idea what or how to go about blogging.
Rather I am a successful blogger or not I have been blessed by more Christian Women, women that I feel I truly know or I'm getting to know.
I find when I'm down one of them lifts me up. One of them is in a worse situation than I and unknowingly reminds me of that!
Thanks for blessing me through your blog!
Hugs!
I think what I enjoy about your blog is that it doesn't try to BE anything-you are just yourself and I find that a great blessing.
Hope you have a Happy New Year full of wonderful things. I look forward to reading about it!
Congratulations on reaching 5 years of blogging, Nancy! I'm impressed. Though I'm still fairly new to the blogging world compared to you, I can totally relate to your thoughts about what a neat place it is to meet and make new friends. People who don't blog just don't get it. I cracked up that your family thought your followers were "perverts!" Too funny!
Maybe you can send me some thoughts on how you built up your followers. It's been a slow go for me.
Keep up the posts ... we are reading!
