Friday Fragments....

It's Friday and time for Friday Fragments hosted for the summer by the Unknown Mami.  Go on over and link up to dump all the leftovers from your week.

*****

We took a small break and rode up to our property to do a little target shooting.

My sister shooting.

This is our man made pond at sundown.  It's about a foot deep and I don't think I'm kidding.  But it's kind of pretty.

*****

You may remember my little episode with the deputies in the neighborhood and how I couldn't keep my mouth shut?  Well, as I was driving out of the neighborhood yesterday, I saw what was obviously a detective (at least he had a badge attached to his belt and a gun on his hip), stopped like an idiot, rolled down my window and asked if he was looking for someone.  OK, he was just walking down the street and I'm a curious woman!!  He said kind of sarcastically "should I be?"  I answered that I didn't know.  He did finally tell me that someone on our street had their car broken into overnight and he was walking through the neighborhood checking to see if anyone else had that problem.  WHAT???  He was walking.  It was H.O.T.  I'm thinking of keeping my mouth shut from now on, but just thinking....

*****

On a stop at the bank, these two parked their wheelchair and walked into the bank.  He's not pushing anyone, that chair is empty, but if they want to sit and take a break an umbrella is attached.  Pretty good idea!
It reminded me of the things on Betty White's show Off Their Rockers.

*****
This week has been long and tiring.  Mama's apartment at the retirement center has to be completely redone due to mold, that's right mold!  So many apartments have to be cleaned and it takes a while so residents move into a vacant apartment while the renovation is being completed.  Mama was supposed to move Tuesday.  My sister came to help and guess what? Right!  You guessed it!  They're not moving her this week and we really don't have a firm date.  This whole moving out and back in process is very confusing to all the residents and so it was frustrating that we were put on hold.  Sigh.

*****

My car has an automatic lift gate and it's one of the features I really like.....except when I forget to use it properly.  We were taking a few rolls of paper towels and some other supplies to mama when we made a quick stop at T*rget.  Our purchases safely in the back, we took off.  There was an odd air leak kind of sound and I thought a window was cracked.  That is until I figured out I forgot to push the button to lower the back gate!  Not one other vehicle honked their horn or pointed as paper towel rolls flew out the back!  That was really special!

*****

I had a little scare while having a routine test right in the middle of all the other stress and while I was wondering if I should panic, this scripture came to my mind.

All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.  Psalm 139:16

All the days ordained for me
were written in your book
before one of them came to be.
(Psalm 139:16)

The Lord was reminding me that He alone knows the number of my days.

Everything turned out fine and I'll just have a recheck in six months.

Wow!  My fragments are awfully fragmented. So I'll just say

Have a wonderful weekend!

Dear Nancy, you do so much each week. But you never fail in your postings to share with us something about your wonderfully feisty mom. I so enjoy reading about her and about your relationship. It must be so confusing for everyone where she lives--that is, the not knowing what's happening next. Your mom must be relieved always to know that you and your sister are there to help her. Peace.

...just hope he WAS part of the sheriff's office and not an impersonator. You never know.

Good to hear the test results!!!

When is the last time I said:"I love you, Nancygrayce!"?

I should say it all the time cause I surely do.

Your frags always make me smile. Even when you're serious I can see your humor shining through.

I can not believe no one honked or waved to tell you your tailgate was up!!
And so glad to hear everything is okay, health scares are draining :(

PS Hope you don't mind if I include my blog link here, between Google going away and switching to WordPress I'm feeling rather lost out there! http://www.howtosurvivelifeinthesuburbs.com

I'm SO glad that your tests came back ok ... what a stressful time.

What a pain ... move, don't move, wait ... I realize that sometimes things happen that cause plans to change, but seriously? Don't they realize how confusing and upsetting this is to the residents ... not to mention the family who will be helping. Argh!

Boy your week was all over the place! Hope your mom isn't stressed over it all. Those people didn't honk 'cause they were too busy pulling over and picking everything up for themselves!! And remember, there are many scriptures that talk about how you can add days to your life (like the one about honoring your parents, which you do, Exo. 20:12)!

That's an excellent Bible verse. So sorry about your Mama's apt. Mold can cause so many problems. Hope they move her soon! Have a nice weekend.

That verse has always been a comfort to me when we go on a trip or I have surgery. What a shame about the mold. I hope they will be able to take care of everybody without too much confusion or inconvenience.
I'm laughing picturing you rolling down your window to ask the officer if he's looking for somebody. What if he had answered yes and she looks a lot like you?
Glad your test came out all right.
The pond is pretty.

Glad your health scare turned out to not be a scare. I love your little pond. It looks so peaceful at dusk, like that. I hope next week goes better for you!

P.S. - I'm not sure this took, so I'm hitting "publish" again. If it already did, then ignore this :-)

Sometimes the back of the mail truck doesn't close right. Someone in town didn't notice the extra breeze coming from the back and drove down the highway with the back door open. Mail went EVERYWHERE.

No one honked their horn either.

Ok what can I say I would have stopped and picked up the paper towels and not given them back.....yeah I am one of those people.........but I would have told your they were falling out so you could fix the problem........next I would be having a moment if it was my mums place with mold.......I do not like mold.......as for the officer walking down the road well at least you didn't try and run him down...........and there are people out there who would do that because they are really stupid and think it would be a good idea.....lol

Glad to hear your tests were okay. I don't think there is anything wrong with talking with the police, it is always good to know what is going on in the neighbourhood. Your poor Mother, hope that gets straightened out and fast.

I can't believe that the paper towels fell out and you didn't even get one courtesy honk.
