Dear Prayer Warriors....

I really just want to tell a funny story or show cute pictures of my dogs and cats, but this week has been really sad!

This is my dear friend , her son and granddaughter. You may remember her from this post. She has been through a lot of stuff in her life and is now standing by her son's side in the ICU as he struggles for his life.

Several years ago, he was injured in a diving accident and is now quadriplegic...he has apparently contracted an infection and his liver has completely shut down. Linda, my friend, is asking for prayer that his liver will begin to function.

About 20 years ago, she lost her youngest son to leukemia and that's not even the half of what she's been through.

Yet, her faith and her sense of humor remains strong and intact. Today I saw her cry for the first time in many years. I went in and spoke for a moment to her son, a young man I've known all his life and it just broke my heart.

Let me tell you a funny story about him and my son David, so you'll get to know him a little better. Many, many years ago, we were at the state park with her sons and my sons. Matt, this son, and David, my son, had been walking the beach looking for treasures. They came back to our blanket with a beach ball and we sternly told them that if they found something on someone else's blanket not to touch it.....we went back to sun bathing. A little while later we looked and here they came down the beach. Each holding one handle of a cooler.

Of course, we jumped up in horror to make this wrong right, when they very calmly explained that the cooler WAS NOT ON A BLANKET! We still laugh about that story to this day.

When she asked me to get the prayer request out to anyone, I immediately knew the prayer warriors of the world would lift Matt up to God's throne of mercy!

Seems like this has been a sad week around our town. Thank you for your prayers!

I will say a prayer for him and also his Mom. God is a great God and He is able. Check out my blog, we also have requested prayer for our babies. We are trusting God for a complete work.

It has been a sad week for you.

My mother is a paraplegic of 14 years and I know all too well the complications that arise from that. I will keep them in my prayers.

Nancy, I know your heart is heavy with so much sadness. The people you know and love have really had a hard week. I will continue to pray for the nephew and family and for the family of the young mother who died. I will add this young man and pray for better days. I am sure his mother is tired and feeling so helpless. If only a mother's love could heal...

I'm sure your words and hugs have helped tremendously, and I will pray that the Lord shows you just what to do and say to minister to them best.

I'm sorry for the difficult times your friend and her son are going through.

BTW - - - I stole your moose icon/message. It was so cute I put it on my blog too. I don't know where you got it - - - but I like it.

Oh gosh, Nancy! Here I've been starting out on a new adventure and you've been riddled with sadness this week. I am SO sorry about the loss of Lani - she looks as though she was very young! And your friend's son, bless his heart. I will pray for him and for your friend to bear whatever the Lord has planned. I'm so sorry for all the sadness you're experiencing right now.
