No, really, I won't fight!

The above letter is one that Russell's cousin wrote on May 12, 1960.....I'm going to type it out so you can actually read it because it is the most hilarious letter ever written.

This is the actual letter word for word. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

Dear Pappy,

I love you very much. I will do what ever you say. And I want to do what Grandma tells me. I am glad to come and see you all. I hope I will not give you any tuble (her spelling). I will not fuss with you are (her spelling) fight with Jim. I will be nice to you and Grandma and Jim. I love you very much. I will eat when you tell me too. I will do music when ever you want me too. I will turn off T.V. when ever you want me to. I will eat dinner when I'm supposed to. I will eat breakfast when you want me to. I will take a bath when you tell me to. I will wake up early in the morning and set the table.

I will eat my supper when you want me to. I will play nice with L.C. (I think he was one of their worker's sons). I will do what ever y'all want me to. I will not fight with L.C. or Russell (my husband). I will play nice with Russell. I like Russell very much. I will be nice to mother and daddy. I love you very much.

I will play nice with every body. I love you and Jim and Russell and Grandma and mother and daddy and Jane and Bill and me. I love you Very very very much.

Love,

Corine

Apparently, Corine, was a very bad little girl who loved to fight! And apparently, Pappy and Grandma put up with no foolishness. Jim, Jane and Bill were her brothers and sister.

We found this letter after Russell's grandma died at age 107.

During the time this letter was written, Pappy and Grandma lived on a huge acreage was up in the woods. Their house was in what they called and I'm assuming was a little community, Red Head.

All the children loved to go there. Russell says his happiest memories are of being there and that his grandma spoiled them all!

I think this letter was written because she had been told she couldn't go up, so she got busy telling Pappy how nice she would be. When I first read this letter, I laughed harder than I think I ever have before. Corine couldn't have been more than 10 years old because she was a little older than Russell.

It's true, kids say the darndest things!

I know Keetha! Windycorner told me to go back to the post where it first happened and mark it as a draft.....so I did and part of it came back. Then I read some instructions (shhhh, don't tell anybody I read instructions!) and viola, back they came! I'm not messing around with them anymore! I'll just have a dull looking blog!

Too funny. That was quite a bit of pleading.

Precious child! She really wanted to prove she could do the right thing and be nice to everyone. I hope she succeeded.
