Anxiety anyone?

I just couldn't resist this.  Thanks to Renee   for letting me use this cute cartoon. Go on over and visit her, she has lots of really cute cartoons!

Actually I'm not afraid to take anxiety medicine.  I'm more afraid of anxiety itself!

Anxiety is such a strange creature.  One of the happiest times of my life, I was the most anxious.  When I explained that to my doctor, I was informed that ANY kind of stress, good or bad is stress.  It was right after Russell and I had married and lots of things were changing.  I sold my house which meant I had nowhere to go if I felt trapped.....I didn't....feel trapped that is....but I might have I thought.....I quit my job to stay home and raise two more kids .  That was very traumatic as I had worked most of my adult life and didn't know what to do with myself.  AND I had already raised two kids.  Just lots of stuff changed.  And even though they were good changes, they triggered anxiety.

Some people don't understand anxiety.....feel Christians shouldn't even have anxiety.....if that's true, somebody should have told David, the apple of God's eye.  He spent a lot of time crying out to God.

Actually, I'm not all that anxious right now.  O.K. that's not entirely true.  But I do trust everything will turn out good.

Now here's one who knows how to relax....

Ah, I think I'll go take a few lessons from Mikey!

Enjoyed your post! I for one can't go without my Paxil!!! Dealing with anxiety and panic disorder are part of my daily life and thanks to God's help and the meds I win more days than I lose. Still have trouble driving over bridges but fortunately where I live we don't have any I am forced to deal with. Have a great weekend.

HI!!!!
Yes, I agree with you about stress and anxiety, when younger, I had a hard time dealing with change, all change good or bad, but as I have gotten older, I think I just say who cares!!!!!I understand how you must have felt, that is alot of change all at once huh????
Good for you for talking about it and getting some help with it, we all need to do that sometimes, after having shingles last year, I realized I do not handle stress and bad news very well, and I did have to talk to some one about it, but then what made me so stressed was some pretty disturbing news about our 2nd daughter and a Man my Mom was married to and something he did to her when she was a child, I am now only barely able to type this let alone discuss it without bursting into tears and or worse wanting to kill him.
God is good and capable of even healing my pain
hang in there
hugs,
jamie

I shouldn't have made Kristen's name a different color - you need to click on Jeremiah 29:11 - her new site. Thanks!

I love that pup. For me I suffered with panic attacks that were so bad I felt like I was dying. Pets are really healing....so is God. Sarah

I would love to learn how to relax like that precious dog!

The header on your blog makes me wish I was at the beach listening to the waves - ahhh. Now there's peace.

Don't you just wish you were a pet sometimes. Always food on the table, a nice warm pat, and it's OK if you take a nap when you are sleepy.

I take "chill pills" everyday. Anxiety attacks, caused heart palpitations, shortness of breath, fatigue, pain...I could go on and on.
But thank the Lord, for a wise and caring Dr.! I have been taking these Meds for about 5 years...no side effects except for more peace.
Good Post.

oh I understand anxiety perfectly. It's easy to say god didn't give us a spirit of fear but of power, love and sound mine but some people do need to take steps towards conquering this, if pills or whatever work, then so be it :-)
