It's Fridaaaaaaayyyyyyy......

Oh, the weeks just keep on rolling and I'm trying hard to keep up with the flow, but some days I'm swimming upstream!  But it's Friday and time for Friday Fragments where we dump the odds and ends of our brains.  Join Mrs. 4444 over at Half Past Kissing Time if you've got bits and pieces of your week floating around and need a place to dump them!

Half-Past Kissin' Time

It's Memorial Day weekend and I just want to stop and thank the families of those who gave all so I can be free.

I hope we all pause to remember the sacrifice of all those who go and especially those who have lost their sons, daughters, wives, husbands, mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters or friends to wars in all generations.

Thank you.

Two ladies are having 100th birthdays this month at the retirement center where my mama lives.  We will be attending the party for this one today!

V looks exactly like her picture!  She was either a model or a beauty queen or maybe both and still gets up and puts on her makeup, does her hair and dresses nicely.  She walks around with her walker and her butterfly clip in her hair and is just the sweetest little lady you will ever meet!  You can tell she was the belle of every ball!
Happy Birthday V!

I am late as usual today and need to get moving, so here is my last frag.....just to prove that I can fit both feet into my mouth and that I have no brain!  I got a call yesterday from a lady in our church asking us to be greeters for a Sunday in June.  During the course of the conversation, I said....how is Archie doing?.....she answered....well, he died in 2011!  I really thought about just hanging up and quietly disappearing, but instead apologized for my stupidity forgetfulness!

Hope you all have a very memorable weekend!

Oh dear. But i do so understand how things like that happen. I've been known to put my foot in my mouth on more than one occasion. I think most people understand no harm was intended.

Happy Birthday to the Bell of the Ball : ) Enjoy your weekend!

Before my grandfather passed away, the kids and I would call him to wish him a Happy Memorial Day and thank him for his time served in the Navy during WWII. I know it meant a lot to him and it taught my children to appreciate the freedom they have in our country.

Once I asked my friend how her husband's sister was doing (because she suffered from depression). Foot in mouth - she committed suicide the year before. I felt like a HUGE JERK!

100th birthdays? And the one looks stunning for 100! I hope I make it to 100, and that I'm as feisty as she seems to be. ;)

I tend to ingest my foot a lot in conversations, so you're not alone. ;) Have a great weekend! :)

I can't imagine being so active at 100! She sounds amazing. Hey, we are only human and mistakes do happen.
Keeping all those have served our country, those we are still serving out country and those who lost their lives for us. ((HUGS))

Oh my!
If I live to be a hundred, I hope to be able to be up and around and still do my hair. Happy Birthday to lovely V.
Definitely remembering those who have made the sacrifice. Both of my nephews currently serve. God bless them all.

Bless her heart! 100 yrs old and still putting on her makeup!! That's amazing.

I've put both of my feet in my mouth before. I'll have to share the story so you know you're not alone! I went to the Dr. once upon a time and hadn't been in quite awhile. I saw the receptionist's protruding tummy and asked brightly, "Oh, when is your baby due?" She said, "I had it a few months ago!" Apparently she hadn't lost her "baby fat" yet. Gee, did I ever wish the floor would open up and swallow me.

Have a wonderful weekend!

I haven't heard of Memorial Day but then I am in a different country and the name it's self tells me what it is about.

Then I'd say that Archie was DOING WELL!! :) Assuming he was a believer :)

You asked what book I was reading...it is called Praying for Strangers by River Jordan...I thought it was going to be a how to book but it is about how she prays for one stranger a day and informs them, then what happens as a result...now I really am calling it a HOW TO book because it is a wonderful thing to do.
