A Family kind of time...

This Saturday is an annual family reunion. My sister and her granddaughter are coming from Pensacola, She and my brother and I will be all taking mama and going to the outskirts of a huge town, Ponce de Leon to a small Baptist church founded by our great grandfather...It is the old fashioned church with the cemetery behind. When my grandma was alive, I loved to walk in the cemetery with her because she knew everybody out there. There is a little church service and catching up on who's passed on and who's the oldest you know the reunion drill! Then we'll go outside to the actual dinner on the grounds. You know those country cousins can cook now!! We will consume lots of good food and see family members we never see except here and at funerals. I'll take pictures and show some of our family.

Tomorrow's Friday!!!!! You know how I love my Fridays.

Have a great time at your family reunion! I love when we can get together when it's not a sad occasion! Take lots of pictures to share with your friends in blogland!

Love,

It's been a long time since I attended one, but what fun! All my relatives are in N.C. on my mom's side...and from Atlanta area on my dad's. We don't see some of them very often. Have a great time!

That sounds like a wonderful time together. I love the old churches with the cemeteries. When we went to St. Simons Island in April, I got to find the people from Eugenia Price's books. Such a trip down history.

Your bread baking comment gave me a chuckle - I was a mad bread baker in my young mom years - bagels, English muffins, cinnamon rolls, wheat bread, you name it. Now I do make caramel rolls and cabbage burgers on occasion, and these crescent rolls for very special occasions. I miss the good bread days, but it is just too much work and too much temptation for this overweight, going to work and babysitting grandma!
