A few days of rest

We took off in the motor home (better known as the ARE. V.) last Wednesday afternoon for a few days of much needed rest. It was a beautiful, secluded place just two hours away, a very secluded place, but beautiful. Well, it WAS in the country. The nearest grocery store was, well convenience store comes to mind. We take most of what we need, but we always forget a few key ingredients! It was a very secluded place. The camp host was nice. He rode around on a scooter making sure no one was whooping it up too much in all that seclusion . No sir! All quiet after 10 p.m. don't ya know! All I did after 10 p.m. was take the dogs out in the pitch black, dark, secluded place.

We watched a couple of movies I took, walked the dogs, read and let's see, oh yea, rested. We couldn't fish because we didn't have a boat. My brother told us to take a boat, but we already pull our car so we couldn't take a boat too! Maybe next time, he'll come with us and bring his boat.

The other thing we did for entertainment was eat. Now that I'm working out on the Wicked Wii (I renamed the Wii Fit), I always know exactly how much I've cheated as soon as I step back on the little darling. 4.4 lbs. gained. In 4 days!!! Is that even possible??? Talk about adding to depression.

This little restaurant was great.....seafood (good seafood) buffet, all you could eat plus drink and tax $7.00. No kidding...$7.00. We were stunned, but full.

Speaking of depression, we were near the Florida State Hospital, so I decided to go for a ride while hubby was studying. For you that don't know, it was formerly known as an insane asylum. The buildings are from the 1980's and they have been beautifully kept up with rose gardens everywhere. My husband was afraid they were going to keep me and wanted no part of that!

It was the first time in our married life that neither of us had a father on Father's Day. My daddy died 12 years ago, just 6 months after we married, and Russell's dad died in May.

Sounds like a lovely week-end, even though your husband was no doubt very sad. I'm glad you could get away!

My friend Cathy and I had lunch after church on Sunday and we both spoke of our fathers. It was for both of us our first without them. But we didn't wish them back in the condition they were in. It was a bittersweet day for us. I'm happy you had a nice getaway, though.

OK - - - you had me at hello!! (So to speak) That first picture is GORGEOUS. I'd LOVE some of THAT kind of secluded. Of course, we probably are NOT going to drag our camper all the way to FL just to get it - - - but I'm still curious to know WHERE that is. The seafood is an added incentive!!! ;-)

It sounds like a wonderful trip. Glad you didnt venture out at the hospital. Though I often say some days a quiet padded room sound like what I need.
I thought of your hubby on Fathers day, knowing he has recently lost his Dad. I hope he did ok. I hope it was a day of rememberance and joy in doing so (thinking of the past). But as we know, he is with the greatest of Father's now.

And finally-I KNOW you didnt gain weight. It was probabbly the time of day you measured. I still want to get the wii fit. But will my family know how much I weigh? Does it record that? I dont want anyone to know that!

Well, Keetha, it is a little place between Panama City and Tallahassee, FL......the actual campground is a Corps of Engineers campground located right on the FL/GA border in (or right outside of) Chattahoochee. It IS beautiful, but there is nothing to do except relax. Not that that is a bad thing.

At this point, I'm thinking the Wii can do whatever it wants to! It did ask me about my son's posture!!! No kidding! I'm telling you the thing is learning to read our minds. :)

OOOOO, I do NOT like those secluded places...give me some lights and stores and people. But, glad you had a good time.

Your WII must be kin to my heating pad!

Nancygrayce I am NOT believing this!!! My M-I-L lives in Madison, FL which is right there at the FL/GA border, just south of Valdosta!!!!!

Hmmmmmm - - - maybe I CAN figure out a way to go camping there. I'm telling you - - - it looks FABULOUS.

Keetha....I was there last Saturday....we have our shooting matches about a mile and a half from that campground!! Since I am in between Chattahochee and Madison maybe we will get a chance to meet someday!!

I had to get on here and say that sounds like a wonderful trip you had. Glad you could get away and enjoy some quiet time with your hubby. I will be praying for your trip to see the kids and maybe we can come and see you when you return. Love ya, Kristie :)
