Florida Fridays.....

OH, how I wish I had a picture of the beach to go with this title....I mean a recent picture....but it's way too cold to be at the beach and besides it Trash Spring Break and the crazies are all on our beautiful beaches acting all......well, crazy!  In fact, sadly one college student has already died from alcohol poisoning.  I just don't know how getting drunk is fun on spring break.

Sigh.....

But if you have some left over thoughts from your week or just want to read what others have floating around in their brains, visit Mrs. 4444 for Friday Fragments!

*****
Even on a cold day like today, there is plenty to be thankful for.......

like this new rug that came yesterday and thankfully no child labor was used in the making of this rug, they even included this paper to make sure I knew.

Try to pretend the peanut butter and leg weights aren't on it, but I need it to lay down quickly so no one trips coming in the back door.  Even the Superhero likes this one so I must have done o.k.

*****

Since the Superhero and I don't get a lot of time together during tax season, I grab any and every opportunity to talk to him and lately that is mostly on our EARLY morning walks.  And since I'm like this new Heard Around Here thing I've just decided to do here's one for this week.....

Me.....talk, talk, talk, talk, talk, you get the idea.

Superhero.....sometimes do you feel like you have diarrhea of the mouth?

Me....I would give you the silent treatment, but somehow I don't think that will work.  Talk, talk, talk, etc.  :)

*****

Mikey is our special needs dog/child.  He has seizures and is on medication.  Yesterday at 7:30 a.m. he had a bad seizure and this morning at 3:30 a.m. he had another one.  Bless his heart, it scares him and us badly and I have to hold him until it's over and he's ok.  But 3:30 a.m. is a little much so I told him he's going to have to try and schedule them a little later in the day!
AND of course, the vet hasn't called back to tell me if I need to up his dosage.

*****

I'm late with getting linked up so I'll say have a great weekend all!

We had a dog that had seizures and it was so frightening. We pinned down the cause to the new baby and had to give the dog away. To us she is always living on the farm where we took her (and we really did take her to a farm).

Oh, poor Mikey. And poor you. :( I wonder if they could change his meds.

I like the rug.:)

Dog seizures are scary - we had a dog that had them, triggered by thunder (and the neighbor's bass from his stereo when he cranked it up).

I've never seen the attraction to getting drunk (and stupid) on spring break - how sad about that college student!

Diarrhea of the mouth...heh - my hubby's used that description before. ;)

Another Winter Storm Dud and some Funnies

We also had a dog that had seizures. But in the end, they got so bad that we had to put him down. His quality of life was seriously compromised and he was already 12 (old for a Springer)

LOVE the rug. We got a new sisal one for the kitchen to lessen the wear and tear on the new hardwood floors... I've already spilled gray paint on it. *sigh*

It was fun reading your fragments and I'm slightly envious of your Florida weather, cold or no cold. We had a foot of snow today and ugh. It won't stick around too long (it's March, right?), which I guess is the bright side. And its pretty : )

I'm following along here now...have a nice weekend!

What a waste of life. They just never think it will happen to them.

Having a sick dog is just no good. We have been fortunate with both our Schnauzers being in good health. I had a mini-dachshund with back problems. Very sad. Have a great weekend.

Hahahahaha, I think the chatting is a SC trait! My dear friend who enjoys a good gab is also from SC. But that's ok, you guys sound so delightful when you talk. And I miss it.

Oh, your poor dog. That can't be fun to experience on either end. My old poodle got to the point that he could hardly move after his episodes. They couldn't afford his medication at that point, it kept going up. My folks put him down. It was so heart breaking.

SO sad about the college students...all of them..I don't agree with any of that activity and I do feel sad for those of you who have to put up with the traffic and nonsense.
I'm sad for your little baby.
I am however...happy about that pretty rug!!!!

I'm the quiet one and hubby is the talker!

crazies indeed!!! I too can't understand the fascination and fun of getting drunk. Even a little tipsy. But to go so far and die of poisoning? I just don't get it. Oh and of course in a couple week's time [at least here in Coastal Texas] there'll be several date rape cases pending from the week. :o(

I hope Mikey is okay and the vet finally called back. Poor thing.

Love that new rug!

Poor Mikey ... hope you can up his meds or do something that will get the seizures under control.

I've never understood the allure of getting drunk and crazy.

So sorry about the seizures. I am sure that is hard to watch. Yes those Spring breaks can be so crazy! Love the rug, really cute.
Enjoy your weekend.

That's a great-looking rug!

"Diarrhea of the mouth?" Never heard that one before!

I hope Mikey feels better and that your vet gets back to you soon. I know how frustrating it can be to have to wait for the call.

Go ahead - tell me how "cold" it is down there for trash break.

Trash break hehehehe

Yesterday it was warm here reaching nearly 40 degrees and I saw an ADULT man out chipping ice out of his driveway while wearing sandals on his otherwise BARE NEKKID feet.

And we still have about a foot of solidly frozen snow all over the ground and there he was out in sandals and bare feet.

I kid you a not.

We're going to the beach next weekend but on the East Coast of FL. I'm hoping we don't freeze our buns off!
Hope the dog is ok, seizures are scary.

You guys seem to have such a great dynamic... I love couples who "get" each other's sense of humor!

I'm headed your way in a few weeks for our Spring Break... hopefully the crazies will be gone and the parents won't feel the need to drink as much with their children around :-)

Love that rug....very cool! I have for so long thought about being a snow bird in the winter, I thought maybe when my last child graduates. Well the last one of my kids graduated last year and I am seriously thinking of winters in the South. I think the beach suits me just fine! We can be neighbours and walk and talk my friend!! :)
