A funny thing happened on the way to the polls.....

As I know you will all remember from this post I always vote and even keep my "I voted" sticker on my clothing way past election time! In some cases, many months after election time!

So, today I got the grandchildren from their great grandmother's house and on the way home, we passed a church and people were flooding in and out and I said Hmmmm, I wonder what's happening there?? when suddenly a random thought passed through my mind It's election day! It was storming....pouring rain, but I wheeled right into my polling place, parked, gave the kids instructions not to let anyone kidnap them and ran through the rain in my new shoes and let freedom ring by voting! Whew, really I almost missed it!

My shirt with my I Voted sticker is laying on my bed because I'm wearing it again tonight and I don't want to get it dirty. That says a lot about being old! We just better not even go there.

I swore up and down and all around, I would not comment on politics, but I watched just enough of the convention last nite to hear the "tribute" to T*d K*n****...o.k. when you've been accused of allegedly causing a death by drowning, please don't start off talking about your love of the water (sea). For goodness sake! I turned it off at that point. I'm sorry to any of my democrat friends. It isn't even about that, because being raised in the south, I was a democrat for many years. Until democrats became some other beings. Even some I love and hold dear.

I will repeat what I read on someone else's blog (I would link, but I honestly don't remember where I read this), I pray that America doesn't get what we deserve. I hope God is merciful!

I must agree with you. It's a terrible shame....where we stand with this election. Last nights fiasco of a convention, pathetic!

My 15 year old daughter is addicted to the whole world of politics.....she is unabashedly committed to the conservative party. Runs in her family!

Our oldest will vote for the first time this year.....and he's really disappointed! When he was 3, he dressed as a republican for our halloween fall festival. It was so cute! #41 was in the White House. Need I say more?

There is so much I could say, but as a very dear friend of mine says,"I'm gonna bite my tongue until my nose bleeds!"
Just keep prayin', just keep prayin'!! I just have to keep telling myself...GOD IS IN CONTROL!!

I will NOT be watching any of that junk this week - someone asked me tonight if I was watching Hillary's speech. Are you kidding me???

Oh - - - when I said "those monkeys are adorable" I was NOT referring to this year's crop of politicians - - - and that's all I'll say about that - - -

The election conversation is just horrible. None are worthy!! sure hope I didn't offend anyone by saying that.. too many lies for me.
But I do hope that God is merciful as well.
Have a blessed day

I have not watched a minute of the convention myself, but would have had the same reaction as you if I heard the water remarks. He's treading shallow waters with that - pun intended.

So glad to hear that some folks still take the right to vote so seriously and, hopefully, pass it on to the next generation.

Oh my gosh, Nancy. Even though we Canadians tend to be more liberal than the Americans in certain cases, I cannot believe what's going on down there! Obama is a media star, whipping the masses into a frenzy with nothing but froth and air. And today I can't believe the number of nasty, vicious comments being made about Sara Palin. God help us all, even your northern neighbours because we are affected by your choices.
